An event due at the end of the month, a visit to Kadoorie Farm, unfortunately had to be cancelled at the last minute due to the inclement weather conditions. We will look to re-arrange this in the new Board's year.
We are also pleased to announce that we have submitted two Nominations to IFMA's Awards of Excellence for 2004-2005. One nomination was submitted for Excellence in Newsletter publishing. Our reason for the submitting to this Award was on the basis that for a number of years, the Hong Kong Chapter's newsletter was an occasional item, published whenever there was need to distribute information or details of events. It lacked structure and consistency.
In 2002/2003, the Board decided to make the Newsletter one of its key priorities: regularizing the frequency of its publication, ensuring consistency in content and delivering it electronically to all contacts on the Chapter's database.
For the 3 terms of office, these goals have been met and the format of the newsletter has consistently improved year on year. The Chapter's Membership and Friends are provided with a value added service, maintaining the high profile of the Chapter and its activities.
The second for Excellence in Web Communication For the last couple of years, the Hong Kong Chapter's website was maintained on an ad-hoc basis and delivered little value to visitors. |
