Feedback from the November conference

At the end of the November conference, we sought the feedback of participants through a quick questionnaire, with the aim that such feedback would enable us to better plan our next conference and events held.

We received an excellent response rate, with a total of 84 completed surveys, nearly 50% of attendees. Key responses received were as follows:

90% were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the insights presented in to the topics discussed and their relevance.
99% of attendees were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the location.
75% were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the duration.
47% were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the fee (and 32% "quite satisfied" and 7% "not satisfied").
75% were "satisfied" or "very satisfied" with the conference material that was circulated.

Suggestions for future conference topics were also sought. Responses included asset management, IT, budget control, building design, engineering management, project management and outsourcing.

Reasons for attending the conference included the need to update and enhance knowledge, broaden insights into FM, job specific conference material and also that some participants found the topics interesting.

We also took the opportunity to ask some general questions about your membership of the local Chapter.

Comments received in this section have given us some ideas for future events, especially those held at lunchtimes. Whilst the Board was very pleased with the generally positive responses, we will be exploring opportunities for the topics suggested and also aiming to improve on those areas where we fell a little short of your expectations.

December competition

Thanks to those of you for playing December's Mystery Photo Contest. No correct answers were received however the closest response was received from Mr Eric Chan and, with a touch of festive spirit, we shall award the prize to him. Check out January's Mystery Photo at www.ifma.org.hk and try your skill.

A reminder...

The Board has set up a couple of exciting and interesting events for 2004, including trips to the Jockey Club at Shatin to view the back of house facilities and an "overseas" trip to Macau. Both of these events are outlined at the end of the Newsletter and we encourage you to register as soon as possible as these events are likely to be very popular and numbers are limited.

Happy New Year x2

Just as we recover from the excesses of Christmas and the New Year celebrations, we are fortunate enough in HK to have chance to celebrate some more with an early Chinese New Year. The HK Chapter Board Directors wishes all members and friends a healthy and prosperous Year of the Monkey.
