PRESIDENTS VIEW

With many Chapter Members and Board Directors on holiday in July and August, the first couple of months are typically quiet for the new Board. Not so this year!

We got off to a flying start, having already run an operational planning session, agreed upon our Vision and Mission statements, set our goals and objectives for the year ahead and completed our first Membership Survey. We also held a breakfast seminar in July, which was attended by 17 people and organised our next seminar, the details of which are outlined in this newsletter.

Arrangements for our annual conference are almost finalised and we expect to announce full details shortly. The theme for this year's conference is "TransForM : change is the only constant".

The date for your diary is Wednesday 2nd November, with two half-day workshops to be held on the following day, Thursday 3rd November. Both the conference and the workshops will be held at Hong Kong Cyberport.

Watch this space for further details on what I am sure will be an exciting and interesting conference.

Further to the planning session conducted by the Board, I would like to share with you the Vision and Mission Statements for the Hong Kong Chapter, together with the 4 goals the Board and Committees will be working towards:

Vision
To serve as the resource and representative for facility management in Hong Kong and the region

Mission
To provide exceptional products, services and opportunities that support and advance the facility management profession in Hong Kong and the region

Goal 1:
Provide effective networking opportunities for all facility management stakeholders.

Goal 2:
Offer targeted learning programs to advance the career and knowledge of those in the facility management associated communities.

Goal 3:
Improve the stature and influence of the facility management profession.

Goal 4:
Anticipate and prioritise the resources required to enhance effective service delivery of the Chapter's products and services.

Each of these Goals are supported by a number of Objectives.

A couple of the newly established Committees have already met to discuss the strategic plan and prepare action plans to meet the Chapter's Objectives, as well as address the issues raised by the results of the recently Membership Survey (see within).
