to convince yourself and top
management that the projects
you are recommending are worth
the investment. Capital budgeting
is the process by which the
firm decides which long-term
investments to make. You will
learn to differentiate between
capital and expense costs and
to decide which costs to include
in your project investments.
You will get to calculate cash
flow generated from the project
and its costs as cash flow is
critical to the long-term success
of an organisation. The concepts
of cost of capital, discounted
cash flow, payback period, net
present value and internal rate
of return will be illustrated
with examples and exercises.
