THE YEAR AHEAD

Welcome to the new Board's new year! We have welcomed some new faces to the Board however our aims and objectives for the year remain the same as last year ¡V to continue to offer local Facility Managers opportunities to develop their careers through structured learning sessions, networking events and FM news from around the globe.

The new Board was introduced to you in the last newsletter and their "mug shots" can now be found on our website at www.ifma.org.hk

In last month's newsletter we also posted a press release from Messe Frankfurt in respect of the cancellation of the Real Facility Expo Asia Pacific which was scheduled for November. A number of exciting and interesting FM related topics were planned to be presented at this Expo and we are now exploring ways to bring some of these to you through an FM conference towards the end of the year.

We shall keep you posted of our progress.

This newsletter contains details of 2 events which members may be interested in, including a follow up the very successful Finance for Facility Managers that was held earlier in the year.

Finally, remember to send me any news bites, details of new contract awards or anything else that you consider will be of interest to the growing FM community in Hong Kong. There's no charge!

VISIT FROM IFMA HEAD OFFICE

At the end of June, we held a Reception in the show suite of Chater House, Central, for the President and CEO of IFMA, David J. Brady, together with Sheila Sheriden, Chairman and Joseph "Matt Dawson, 1st Vice-Chairman.

The reception was attended by around 20 local Members who listened to David, Sheila and Matt talk about their recent trip to Beijing and Shanghai and forthcoming initiatives within IFMA HO.

Following the reception, the Hong Kong Chapter hosted a dinner at a nearby restaurant.
