Session Description:

Feng Shui, slightly closed to geomancy in the western world, has been a practice in Chinese societies since ancient time. It is a study of the relationship between the heaven, the Earth and the mankind to attain harmony. Owing to the popularity of natural science and technology in the west, lots of people have criticized Feng Shui as superstitious. In this presentation, the scientific aspect of Feng Shui will be described. Furthermore, most building owners and users in Chinese societies still believe in Feng Shui to some degree. Facility managers need to entertain their customers and should learn something about Feng Shui. Moreover, the presenter will suggest areas that facility managers may be benefited when carrying out professional works by practicing Feng Shui. That is to leverage the belief of their customers. As a matter of fact, Feng Shui practice is sometimes more popular in the western world where Feng Shui is one key concern when real estates are sold in countries like Australia, Canada, United States and England.
