Overview of new radio frequency based technology used in retrofitting lightening controls. Describe the state of the art in technology available that, for the first time, can cost effectively be retrofitting into an existing building to enhance the control and performance of lighting systems in an existing building.Provide information on the typical reductions in installation costs, typical energy costs reductions possible, and potential cost reductions in completing future tenant improvements. Review of measured results in cost savings and energy use reductions from accrual tenant space renovations at the Empire State Building in New York City.

 

Speaker Profile:

Tom Myers is the Director of Commercial Real Estate Solutions at Lutron Electronics Co. He and his team support real estate developers and property management companies to implement integrated lighting control solutions on their commercial construction, renovation, or retrofit projects. Tom has spent 33 years in product and business development in the HVAC, industrial material handling, and lighting industry. He is a 1979 graduate of the Architectural Engineering program at Penn State, a member of AIA, IESNA and CSI. Tom is LEED Accredited, and has developed light control solutions in many LEED certified and other sustainable design projects.
