Mr LEE is a professional building surveyor and he is a member of the Hong Kong Institute of Surveyors and the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors. He has been working in the government for over 20 years, mainly in the administration of the Buildings Ordinance on the control of new private building developments and existing private buildings.
Ir CHAN is a senior engineer of EMSD. With his over 20 years of project management and maintenance management experiences, he is leading his team to develop a practical solution for enhancement of workflow and operation and maintenance services by integrating Building Information Modeling (BIM) with Asset Management (AM). The BIM-AM pilot project led by Ir CHAN won the CIC BIM Excellence Awards in 2014. He has also published and presented his works related to BIM-AM in some prominent conferences and symposiums in recent years. In Aug 2016, the technical paper entitled “BIM-Enabled Streamlined Fault Localization with System Topology, RFID Technology and Real-Time Data Acquisition Interfaces” was presented in the IEEE International Conference on Automation Science and Engineering in U.S and an 8-year Hong Kong patent registration for the BIM AM System was obtained in Feb 2017.
Ms. Ada YS FUNG, BBS, FHKIA, is an Architect by profession. She is an active member in the Architectural field as well as in the construction industry in Hong Kong.
With the government mandate on use of BIM from 2018 for all public works in Hong Kong, both government and the construction industry have respectively made corresponding measures and positive responses to this demand. By reviewing the latest BIM development locally and elsewhere, it may be useful to suggest how to achieve the adoption of BIM in the construction industry based on the others experience of best practices especially how Hong Kong could be able to make use of the application of the BIM for construction projects in regions and countries along the One Belt One Road initiative such as Mainland, ASEAN, Middle East and Africa acting as connector and coordinator. Kelvin Tam currently leading BIM evolution at ALKF + Associates Architects is a well-experienced US Registered Architect with 20 years of project experience across the USA, Middle East and Asia. He has been a BIM / Revit user and leader since 2005. Over the years he has been a BIM leader in corporate architecture firms in the USA, Hong Kong, Qatar, Abu Dhabi and Singapore; leading the effort of migrating from 2D CAD to 3D BIM practice by implementing BIM process in projects, making firm wide BIM strategies and standards, coaching and mentoring internal users. For the past 14 years, he has been focused on the development, implementation and support of advanced BIM/VDC technologies to continuously improve the delivery process to clients.

Dr. Jack Cheng is an Associate Professor in Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Director of RFID Center, and Associate Director of GREAT Smart Cities Center at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (HKUST). He obtained his PhD degree from Stanford University. His research interests include building information modelling (BIM), 3D GIS, IoT, big data, computer vision, construction informatics, facility management, and green buildings. He is currently the Chairman of Hong Kong Construction Industry Council (CIC) BIM Standards (Phase 2) Task Force, Chairman of Autodesk Industry Advisory Board (AIAB), Chair of ASCE Global Center of Excellence for Computing, and President-Elect of ASCE Hong Kong Section. He is a Professional Member of HKIBIM and a Certified Carbon Auditor Professional (CAP). He has received the Young BIMer of the Year BIM Excellence Award 2014 from CIC, and a few paper awards in international conferences.
