Tony Garland was elected to the position of President of the Hong Kong Chapter of IFMA. His term of office will run for two years from 1 July 2007. In June 2005 he was elected to the position of Director of Communications and held this position for two years. During this period he was responsible for publishing the newsletter and updating the website as well as revamping the newsletter format and the successful application for the IFMA Award of Excellence for Newsletter Publishing (Small Chapter). |
Tony Garland is a building services engineer who has been active in the facilities management field since 1999. Prior to his involvement in facilities management he held management roles in building services consultancy and major site construction projects. Currently Tony is a senior manager with PCPD Facilities Management Ltd., a subsidiary company of PCCW, which is tasked to manage the property portfolio of PCCW – around 5.5m sq ft. Tony’s role is the provision of support services to the major client-facing functions of PCPD Facilities Management Ltd. – operational services, project services and corporate services. The support functions cover, management systems for quality and occupational safety and health, a centralized 24 hour support centre, IT support, documentation and customer services. Major successes include the integration of 3 separate service centres in to a single centre covering, Helpdesk, Building Automation and Building Security, the development of an in-house IT function and the introduction of a safety management system covering the whole of the PCCW Group in Hong Kong. |
