Tony Garland is the immediate past president having been elected to the position of President of the Hong Kong Chapter of IFMA in 2007. He served two years as President until June 2009. He was originally elected to the position of Director of Communications in June 2005 and held this position for two years. During this period he was responsible for publishing the newsletter and updating the website as well as revamping the newsletter format and the successful application for the IFMA Award of Excellence for Newsletter Publishing (Small Chapter). |
Tony Garland is a Chartered Engineer in the building services engineering discipline, and has been active in the facilities management field since 1999. He has held senior management positions in facility management dealing with operational, IT, helpdesk, business process and compliance issues. Currently Tony is the CEO of Productive People Ltd. and provides a consultancy service to FM clients, specializing in improving productivity through business process and technology improvements. Between 1999 and 2009 Tony worked on a number of facilities projects and roles for two major Hong Kong companies, PCCW and HSBC. Major successes during this period included the implementation of computerized maintenance management systems, integration of 3 separate service centres in to a single centre covering Helpdesk, Building Automation and Building Security, the development of an in-house IT function and the introduction of a safety management system covering the whole of the PCCW Group in Hong Kong. Prior to his involvement in facilities management he held senior management roles as a building services consultant in the UK, and senior site management roles on two major site construction projects in Hong Kong. |
