Hon. Secretary, Hong Kong Chapter of IFMA

Johnny Yip was elected as the Honorary Secretary of the Chapter since 2009 and co-opted to the Chapter Board of Directors in 2008; he actively assists in leading the Professional Development Committee and promoting facilities management and organizing CPD events to our members and representing the Chapter in attending committees organized by other professional organizations, such as the Quality Building Award QBA 2010.

He has been working in property, facility and engineering fields for over 10 years since 1997 and utilized my transferable leadership, multi-disciplinary knowledge

and multi-tasking abilities and accumulated extensive integrated facilities management experience through managing a vast variety of Grade A portfolio of properties from new building setups (Cyberport, AIA Tower, 100 Queen's Road Central, Australian International School, AsiaSat, etc) to old buildings (New Word Centre, Singapore International School, West Island School, PCCW’s Exchanges, Hong Kong Trade Development Council’s Logistics & Exhibition Center, etc), in line with the international / listed clients' business objectives and integrated environment, health & safety system audit requirements; besides, he attained local / overseas renovation project experience, while I was with HKTDC and New World Centre.

Since 2007, he has been a Part-time teacher in an Advanced Diploma course in Facility & Property Management offered by the HKU School of Professional and Continuing Education with the aim at nurturing more facilities management talents in the field.

Currently, Currently, he works as a freelance facility & environment consultant.

On education and qualifications, I graduated from the University College London with a MSc degree in Facility & Environment Management and the University of Hong Kong with a Bachelor’s Degree (Hons) in Mechanical Engineering; currently, I am a Chartered Engineer and a Certified Facility Manager, a Member of BIFM, CIBSE, IFMA & HKIE and an Associate Member of IEMA and CIArb.
