Deric Probst-Wallace was re-elected as Vice President of IFMA for the term 2007 to 2009. He has served as an IFMA Board Director since 2003 holding previous roles as Honorary Secretary, Conference Committee Chairman and Vice President. This year his responsibilities will include Communications, overseeing the website and newsletter. Deric Probst-Wallace is Head of Facility Management with leading FM provider, Synergis Management Services Limited. His responsibilities include managing all FM operations in Hong Kong and developing business throughout China. |
He has managed and consulted on FM strategy, performance management, benchmarking and major outsourcing initiatives in the UK and Hong Kong with organisations such as Accenture, Diageo, Halifax plc, Goldman Sachs, United Business Media, Hutchison 3G, Madam Tussaud’s, Shell, Equitas, Met Office, Defence Evaluation & Research Agency, Naval Bases & Supply Agency, Driver & Vehicle Licensing Agency, Ministry of Defence, Scottish Executive (parliament), City University of Hong Kong, PCCW, HSBC and The Hong Kong Jockey Club. Deric was the founder of both the UK and Hong Kong FM Benchmarking Forums and was lead consultant of the team who developed Synergis’ FM performance profiling process, fmPROFILE®. This is used to benchmark the performance of an organisation’s FM function against best practice. Prior to joining Synergis he was Head of Property with major Hong Kong property developer, Hysan Development Company Limited. His responsibilities included delivering FM services to a 5 million square foot portfolio of grade A offices, luxury retail malls and top end residential complexes. He introduced successful initiatives to measure and manage customer focused service levels and reduce energy costs. Deric was commissioned as a Captain in the Royal Engineers serving in UK, Germany, Canada, Denmark, Italy, Namibia and Bosnia Herzegovina before joining Citex as Director of FM Consulting in 1996. He has an MBA from Cranfield School of Management and is a guest lecturer at Hong Kong Polytechnic University where he teaches post graduate students on strategy, outsourcing, benchmarking and performance management. |
