Brian Crockford is the current Immediate Past President of the Hong Kong Chapter of the International Facility Management Association, having served two terms as President of the Chapter from 2005 to 2007. During this time, the Chapter received 2 Awards of Excellence, recognition from IFMA in Houston of the excellent work the Chapter undertook serving members of the local FM community. The Awards were received for Newsletter Publishing and Professional Development. Brian has been involved in the Chapter since his early days in Hong Kong and over the past couple of years has been instrumental in developing strong relations with the main Board of Directors and management team in Houston. |
Brian is a Chartered Surveyor and Certified Facilities Manager who has been active in the facilities management field since he first arrived in Hong Kong in 1996. Prior to his arrival in Hong Kong, he was a property and asset manager for one of the UK’s largest surveying practices, based in London. He is currently employed by Microsoft as their Regional Facilities Manager with responsibility for a portfolio close to 3,000,000 sqft across the region including China, Singapore, India, Korea and ANZ. Microsoft is continuing to see rapid growth in all business lines, with an intense level of activity in Asia that will potentially see an additional 3M sqft being added to their portfolio – the majority being in China in the form of two significant Research and Development campus developments in Beijing and Shanghai. Key responsibilities include managing vendor performance and delivering global programs on a local and regional basis, such as requirements related to Microsoft’s Environmental Management Program, use of in-house CAFM systems and data and process management around Real Estate and Facilities. Brian has previously worked for JPMorgan Chase in a similar regional role and a number of facility management service providers where his clients included HSBC and Hong Kong Telecom. His specific areas of expertise are corporate facility management, performance based specifications and vendor management, whole life cycle strategic FM advice, customer relationships and team leadership. |
